Meet the Photographer

Hello!

It’s wonderful that you’ve stopped by!

My name is Brett Lindsay, and I’ve been involved in the Arts for my entire life. I began my artistic journey at the age of five when I picked up my first cello, and have been in pursuit my artistic passions every moment since (though, I wouldn’t pick up the camera until much later in life).

I am currently a tenured member of the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra Cello Section, as well as principle cellist and vice-president of the board of the Anchorage Bowl Chamber Orchestra, and as of the Summer of 2023, I will be the cello coach for Alaska Youth Orchestras starting this Fall.

While I do thoroughly enjoy being on stage, the pandemic made live performance opportunities rather scarce, and so I set out to find something new that I could immerse myself in during the lockdown. That’s when I discovered that I had a talent and a passion for photography as well!

As my obsession with photography took hold, I noticed that there was much more crossover with music than I would’ve initially guessed. I frequently heard the echoes of lessons and concepts that I learned in my two decades-long musical education in my new hobby, and that had significant impact on the rate that I learned how to take the pictures that I take today (which you can explore by clicking on the “Gallery” link at the top of this page.)

I am so excited to meet you, and to share with you my passion for the arts in all its forms! Don’t hesitate to use the contact info found below to get in touch with me.
